John T. Walkup, MD is Chair, Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago; Margaret C. Osterman Professor of Psychiatry, Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.
Over the course of his career Dr. Walkup has moved from developing the evidence base for the treatment of childhood onset mental health conditions to addressing through community based participatory research the significant mental health disparities facing children in the U.S and worldwide. His relationship with Communities United leadership and youth reflects his deep commitment to ending the substantial mental health disparities driven by structural racism.
