Raul Botello is Co-Executive Director of Communities United which serves as convener of Voices of Youth in Chicago Education (VOYCE).
Raul has developed and evolved the organization’s approach to healing-centered youth development which has served as a catalyst for this breakthrough initiative. This work has been recognized with a "Hope & Courage" Award from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and the organization has been recognized for its “exceptional commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of children and youth." CU's youth organizing approach was also recognized with an inaugural Obama Foundation/Chicago Public Schools Civic Recognition award in 2019. Raul is an immigrant from Guanajuato, Mexico, and brings 20 years of youth organizing experience to his role.
